This Privacy Policy explains how NOSCLTR collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when you read our website, subscribe to newsletters, contact us, submit work, support the platform, or interact with our digital services.

Who we are

NOSCLTR is an independent motorsport culture and journalism platform. We publish editorial work across motorsport news-analysis, culture, long-form features and reflective writing around the world beyond the tracks.

This policy applies to information collected through our website, email communication, submission processes, newsletter forms, contribution/support pages, analytics tools, and any other digital service controlled by NOSCLTR.

We aim to collect only the information reasonably necessary to operate the platform, communicate with readers and subscribers, review submissions, improve the website, send requested newsletters, and manage support or contribution-related communication.

Information we may collect

Depending on how you use NOSCLTR, we may collect the following types of information:

Contact details

Name, email address, social handles, location if voluntarily provided, and message contents when you contact us.

Newsletter details

Email address, subscription status, selected newsletter categories, consent record, unsubscribe status, and email engagement data.

Submission details

Story ideas, article pitches, contributor details, photographs, portfolio links, captions, credits, and related editorial material.

Grid and application details

Information shared through NOSCLTR Grid, Talent Network or role application forms, including date of birth, availability, skills, interests, portfolio links, social links, sample work and application responses.

Support details

Information shared when you support NOSCLTR, including contribution references, screenshots, campaign platform details, or correspondence.

Website data

Device type, browser, IP address, pages visited, referral source, approximate location, and basic usage analytics.

Preference data

Reader preferences such as subscribed categories, content interests, preferred updates, and optional form selections.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data unless you voluntarily include it in a message, submission, newsletter form, payment reference, or supporting material.

Newsletter subscriptions and category preferences

If you subscribe to the NOSCLTR newsletter, we collect the information needed to send you editorial updates, category-specific newsletters, announcements, publication notes, support updates, and other NOSCLTR-related communication.

Depending on the newsletter form you use, you may choose to subscribe to all updates or only selected categories such as Pitlane, Culture, Features, Inside Line, or other future NOSCLTR sections.

  • We use your email address to send newsletters and updates you requested.
  • We may use your selected categories to personalise which NOSCLTR updates you receive.
  • We may store your subscription date, consent status, source form, preferences and unsubscribe history.
  • We may track basic email engagement such as opens, clicks, delivery status and bounced emails to improve newsletter performance.
  • You can unsubscribe from newsletters at any time through the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us directly.
  • Unsubscribing from newsletters does not automatically delete previous editorial, submission, support or legal records where retention is necessary.
Can I subscribe only to selected categories?
Yes. If the newsletter form offers category choices, you may subscribe to specific NOSCLTR sections or choose all updates. We may use those choices to decide what newsletters to send you.
Can I unsubscribe later?
Yes. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe option included in newsletter emails or by contacting NOSCLTR. After unsubscribing, we may retain limited records necessary to ensure you are not accidentally re-added.
Does subscribing create a reader account?
No. A newsletter subscription does not automatically create a reader account, member account or contributor profile unless NOSCLTR separately introduces such a feature and you choose to use it.

How we use your information

We use personal information for limited, platform-related purposes:

  • To respond to emails, queries, support messages, editorial requests and submission-related communication.
  • To send newsletters, category-specific updates, publication announcements and other NOSCLTR communication you requested.
  • To manage newsletter preferences, subscription status, unsubscribe requests, bounced emails and delivery issues.
  • To review story ideas, full article submissions, photography submissions, contributor proposals and related editorial material.
  • To review NOSCLTR Grid applications, role applications, Talent Network profiles, contributor interest forms and future opportunity enquiries.
  • To manage contributor onboarding, application status, first-task communication, availability records, role suitability, portfolio review and related follow-up communication.
  • To manage attribution, credits, permissions and follow-up communication with contributors or photographers.
  • To operate, maintain, secure and improve the NOSCLTR website and publishing experience.
  • To understand readership patterns through analytics, including page performance, newsletter engagement and audience behaviour.
  • To process support or contribution-related communication where users voluntarily support NOSCLTR through linked platforms or direct methods.
  • To prevent spam, abuse, fraud, unauthorised access or misuse of the website.
  • To comply with applicable legal, regulatory, accounting or security obligations.

Story ideas, articles and photography

If you submit story ideas, articles, photography, visual material, portfolio links or contributor information to NOSCLTR, we may store and review that material for editorial assessment.

Submitting material does not guarantee publication, payment, contributor status, commissioning, or acceptance. We may contact you for clarification, edits, verification, permissions, image credits, or additional context.

By submitting material, you confirm that you have the right to share it with us and that the material does not knowingly infringe another person’s copyright, privacy, publicity rights, confidential information, or legal rights.

What submission information may be stored?
We may store your name, email address, pitch, article draft, image files, captions, credits, social links, portfolio links, editorial notes, approval history and related correspondence.
Can we edit submitted material?
If a submission is considered for publication, NOSCLTR may edit for clarity, structure, grammar, accuracy, formatting, headline style, category fit and editorial consistency. Material will not be published as contributor work without appropriate editorial approval.
How long do we keep submissions?
We may retain submissions and related correspondence for editorial records, future commissioning consideration, dispute handling, verification, or internal reference unless deletion is requested and retention is no longer necessary.

Grid applications, role forms and Talent Network

NOSCLTR Grid is a voluntary contributor programme for people who may want to contribute to NOSCLTR through editorial, trackside coverage, research, social media, media production, community moderation, event coordination or future related opportunities.

If you apply for a Grid role or join the NOSCLTR Talent Network, we may collect and store application-related information so that we can review your profile, assess role fit, contact you about first tasks or future openings, manage role status, and maintain internal contributor records.

  • Application details may include your name, email address, city, country, date of birth, availability, preferred role, area of interest, skills, motorsport interests, portfolio links, social links, sample work links and written responses.
  • We may store application status, review notes, role status, first-task communication, selection decisions and related internal administrative records.
  • Grid roles are voluntary unless clearly stated otherwise. Submitting an application or joining the Talent Network does not guarantee selection, publication, payment, employment, staff status or future opportunity.
  • Talent Network information may be used to contact you about future editorial, media, social, community, trackside, outreach, contributor or formal staff opportunities where relevant.
  • We may retain Grid and Talent Network information for a reasonable period to manage applications, future opportunities, contributor records, dispute handling, platform security and administrative continuity.
What happens after I apply for a Grid role?
NOSCLTR may review your application, shortlist your profile, contact you for a first task, request clarification, keep your profile on hold, decline the application, or retain your details for future Grid opportunities.
Is the Talent Network a job application?
No. The Talent Network is an interest record for future NOSCLTR opportunities. It does not create employment, contributor status, staff status, guaranteed publication or guaranteed selection.
Can I request deletion of my Grid or Talent Network data?
Yes. You may contact NOSCLTR to request deletion or correction of your Grid or Talent Network information, subject to any retention needed for legal, security, editorial, administrative, dispute-resolution or legitimate operational purposes.

Support pages, fundraising links and payment information

NOSCLTR may provide links or instructions that allow readers to support the platform through external fundraising platforms, payment gateways, UPI, bank transfer, or other contribution methods.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, contributions support NOSCLTR’s independent motorsport publishing and community work. They are not represented as tax-deductible charitable donations unless expressly mentioned on the relevant campaign or payment page.

  • We do not directly store complete card, net-banking or payment gateway credentials.
  • External platforms such as fundraising pages or payment processors may collect and process payment data under their own privacy policies.
  • If you send us a payment confirmation, screenshot or transaction reference, we may use it only to verify, acknowledge, reconcile or respond to your contribution.
  • We may retain support-related correspondence for accounting, transparency, campaign management, dispute resolution or legal compliance.

How the website and newsletters understand usage

How long we keep data

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, including communication, newsletter delivery, subscription preference management, editorial review, Grid and Talent Network application review, contributor records, publication records, contribution records, website operation, legal compliance, accounting, dispute resolution or security.

Newsletter subscription data may be retained while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we may retain limited suppression or unsubscribe records to ensure you are not accidentally added back to mailing lists.

Grid applications, Talent Network profiles and contributor-related records may be retained for application review, future opportunity consideration, internal administration, contributor management, editorial records, dispute handling, security or legitimate operational purposes unless deletion is requested and retention is no longer necessary.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information from unauthorised access, misuse, alteration or loss. However, no digital system, email transmission, website or online storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
